Reglas de Juego

Registration and participation to the event the player confirms its full knowledge and acceptance of the game rules without any restriction. Any failure to fulfill these rules may result on the player expulsion from the event and it may be banned to participate in future events.

Participants

Z-INFECTION is a public event open to 10 years old and over, although the Organization reserves the right to refuse admission.

Kids under the age of 14 must participate accompanied all the time by an adult (who is a participant too). This adult will follow the same luck as the kid (i.e.: if one of them is infected by a zombie, the other one will too). If the adult isn´t the minor´s parent nor legal guardian, it must wear the correspondent authorization.

People under the age of 18 can participate alone, but they have to wear the correspondent authorization signed by its parents or legal guardians, including a copy of their ID document.

During the game, participants will bring, all the time, his/her passport and his/her identifying card prominently: green for survivors, red for zombies and yellow for members of the Organization and actors. Eventually, during some performances, actors an organization members may not wear their identification or wear ones of another color to improve to the action realism or contribute to surprise.

To hide the identifying card, lose your passport or don´t perform according to your role, can be motive of expulsion from the game. In case of disagreement or conflict with another participant, if possible, let it know to an actor or organization member.

Usually the editions are organized with direct collaboration with a local non-profit entity, who promotes the event. Usually, most of them will take part in the game as voluntary amateur actors and they´ll collaborate in the personalization and adaptation of the story to the town, creating a specially adapted and unique edition. This brings us an additional degree of reality because you can find the corner butcher cutting zombie´s throat, or the major can be eaten up in the middle of the Main Square, but, please, be tolerant if they make any slip-up: much of them won´t be professional actors. An edition can, also, be more o less complete depending on City Hall contribution.

There will be members of the organization in plainclothes to supervise the correct development of the game. If they see any improper conduct, they can expulse you. They´re the only one who can hide their identifying card.

Prohibitions

It’s forbidden the use of any public or private transport apart of these that conforms part of the game. The use of cars, motorcycles, bikes, skates or others will be a motive of punishment and/or expulsion.

It’s also forbidden to take drugs or to drink alcohol before or during the event. Everyone under their effects will be expulsed immediately.

Any kind of aggression is forbidden. It is prohibited to punch, kick, defend, catch, throw any object, etc. If you are trap in a dead end, you are dead, so, imagine you´re in “Walking Dead” and play the role of your life as "zombie´s food". Upon interaction with another player, respect its right to maintain a security distance.

It´s also forbidden to wear any kind of firearm, real or fake, in exception of actors and organization members explicitly authorized.

Game zone

The game take place in a real environment, which means there´ll be people who aren’t playing, but you can interact to some extent with them: in example, you can ask them for indications to find a street, but you can’t tell them that there are soldiers shooting in the streets, especially if they ignore that you´re playing in a game. If it’s necessary, please explain them that everything is a fiction.

The game zone is limited into a marked area in the maps that you will have in your disposition. But you have to bear in mind that you share the game area with other people and a real world, including vehicles traveling as usual, so pay attention and respect the traffic rules for the pedestrians. All laws and norms remain in force during the game.

The game will take place in public streets and areas, with the exception of some area habilitated and controlled by the organization or the actors/actress. The rest of the lands, locals or houses will be excluded of the game, so you CAN´T go into them.

Along the game zone some secure zones may be prepared. In these zones, indicated on the map, participants must show a relaxed attitude and zombies can´t infect there. Police stations, hospitals, ambulances and other sensible places (and nearby) are zones, by default, excluded of the game, and you mustn´t enter there except, obviously, in case of real necessity or justified emergency.

Challenges, missions and tests

During the game several clues will present challenges and tests that Survivors should do. Some of them may be necessary for the final evacuation. If you can’t go through one of them, don’t worry, look for evidences and clues to the next one. Don’t obsess you. The important thing here it’s to have fun! Zombies will be also able to complete their own missions to collaborate to the expansion of their specie.

They can be new random elements, positive or negative, in any moment, to give more dynamism to the game. Don’t believe all the things you hear, because they may be false, because even the actors can lie. You will better to suspect if the situation don’t look good. And be careful with others survivors, they may help you if you don´t know how to continue, but don´t trust a lot, they may use you as distraction for a zombie horde while they escape along the other side… maybe you even can´t trust your shadow!

Challenges are NOT safety zones, unless members secure it as part of the fiction. In case of zombie attack, if you´re in a closed space, you (or almost a few of you) probably can shelter yourself inside until they´re gone, but, in the middle of a street, even if you´re talking with an actor, you´re vulnerable... if actor has a gun, he maybe can protect you shooting zombies, but... he can also shoot you to save himself leaving you as bait!

Materials cession

This material can include electronic devices to complement the game and/or substitute identifying or control labels, to introduce more playability and to add more detail to these game rules. If it´s necessary, more sheets with additional rules may be provided.

Survivors

Survivors must be present at the beginning of the game. Since then, your main target will be to follow the known info and clues to complete the challenges that you raised, trying to avoid to fall under the zombies´ hands. The beginning will be intentionally confusing and chaotic, emulating how it will probably be in reality. You must investigate, look for actors who can help us, talk with other participants and try to find hints without falling into a cheats or tricks. Pay special attention to any clue given during the initial scene and where characters go.

Most of the participants will begin the game "alive", and will bring an identifying green card, but during the night you´ll become infected and you´ll change the green card for a red one. In this moment your challenge will be to give a good "die" show… Only a few ones will survive and be evacuated. The ones with the greatest number of completed challenges will receive an especial emblem to remember their achievement.

Be careful! Due to safety reasons, Zombies will bit and infect you with a simple contact (to you or anything you bring, i.e. your backpack), so don’t outbreak if you are trap, on the contrary: put yourself in the role and perform... it´s eating you up! But zombies can only bit you if they give you a bit sticker and you don´t have any arm to fight them, in this case, you must give it half of your green card and visit the Infected Control Centre. During the first hour, the virus isn´t quite aggressive, so they probably will be able to provide you an antiviral. From that point, they will submit you to one of your infection tests of you passport (don´t use by yourself), to know the scope of the infection, and it will determinate if it worth to inject you or there´s no turning back. If you finally reborn as a zombie, with your new made-up, you can join to a zombie horde and roam in the village and infect the latest unfortunate survivors.

Zombies

Zombies bring the virus and they wear a red identifying card. Unlike the movies, Zombies, usually retain some of their intellect and motor faculties. You will find them moving in groups (hordes) but also wandering around individually, and in this case, they tend to run, a lot! These are known as "Zeta" zombies. It don´t seem they´re attracted by noise (but if you´re noisy they´ll know you´re there) but some attraction to intense lights has been observed.

Be a zombie is fun too: going in group, you are slowly, but your number will increase during the night, and survivors will be tired for moments. So this will be favorable for you. Play your role, loitering the streets, and scare people, crawl, groan... you´ll be the center of media attention! But zombies can only bit having bit stickers, which can be obtained passing certain time in hordes prior to go out to hunt. Initial point where to start the game will be indicated to the initial zombies.

Hordes are powerhouses of the Zombies. A kind of common mind makes them concoct plans and ambushes. Horde continually out new Zeta as well as small groups with specific missions. As with the challenges of survivors, at the end of the game, Zombies with the highest number of completed missions, will receive a special emblem to remember their trail of death. When you finish each mission you must join to an horde again to validate its result and wait until your next objective will be assigned. All zombies are part of Z-Resurrection faction.

The zombie virus isn´t contagious at all time. Remember: you can only bit if you´ve got bit stickers. You can´t stand guard over or lay siege to participants nearby a challenge/control or secure zone. You can´t infect multiple people at a time: finish with one and, then, continue with your mission. Zombies can hide themselves, at the most they stand behind a corner, they don´t bend down behind a car, and they don´t react instantly and lightning fast. They´re not stealthy, they don´t walk calmly, they don´t walk the dog out or use the cell phone nor use whatsapp, they don´t seat to have dinner, etc. Actors can shot you and stop your progress. Any zombie who don´t act as a zombie can be disqualified.

Defense

Along the game you can obtain arms and ammunition stickers. If a zombie tries to bit you and you or your colleague have an arm and an unused ammunition sticker: you´re safe! take its bit sticker and give it your ammunition one and keep alive!

Reality and fiction

The game will take place, mainly, on the public way, but also in private spaces set up to that effect. All these can be low lite, open to traffic, include forest, green zones, vegetable patch, abandoned houses, hard to get to, unfrequented or closed spaces, etc. All these spaces set up for the game, are going to be prepared considering adequate security measures, but also balancing possible risks with an elevated realism level of the presented fiction. All this, together with the low ambience light, adrenaline, tension and running people involves the existence of certain, considerable, risk of falls, lesions or accidents.

Taking part in the game, you declare to know and accept the inherent risks of this kind of activity and you renounce to report any claim for damages or compensation against Z-infection due to fortuitous accidents or derived from your own comportment.

Any participant must have completely clear what´s real and what´s fiction, and it must be very conscientious of its own acts because while it´s playing a game, it´s completely responsible of its acts.

In case any participant needs to address to others to communicate anything real without any doubt, it must do it insisting on the word REAL and putting one arm up. Any message transmitted showing one arm up must be unequivocally understood as real and out of any fiction of the game. Police is always real and you must obey any order they may emit.

In case you find colored signals (specially luminescent ones) delimiting a zone or marking an intersection, track, door or path, it must be interpreted as PROHIBITION if they´re red, INDICATION if they´re green. On the same way, you mustn´t cross any zone delimited with red and white tape. In contrast, a yellow and black one will be part of the game. In case of doubt, don´t put yourself, any other participant or other people in risk.

Please, remember that everything is a game, don´t put yourself in risk, be always careful, look and don´t run in darkness, difficult areas, on stairs, rugged terrains, etc., and if you can see any risky situation, for you or others, try to minimize it and let it know to the Organization. Even if it´s part of the proposal, if you see any possible risk that you don´t want to assume, say it and don´t assume it. Remember that everything is a fiction and full law is in place. You still being the unique responsible of your acts and you must take responsibility for it.

Z-infection won´t be responsible for any lost or damaged object while playing.
